On the evening of 23 September 2022, 180 guests gathered at the Hôtel Imperial Palace in Annecy for an evening organised by the Rotary Club.
On the menu, a dinner to tantalise the taste buds of the guests, without forgetting the objective of the evening: to be all together for a good cause.
Presentation of the project :
The Puits du Désert association helps people in Africa (Niger) in the areas of rural development through access to water, health, education and crafts. The association has been taking up this challenge for 20 years.
Its main tasks are :
Access to water through the construction of hydraulic structures,
Reducing infant mortality through access to drinking water,
Access to education by building schools,
Access to basic healthcare through the construction of health centres and huts,
Emergency food aid and support.
Thanks to this association, more than 360 water wells have been built.
A solidarity tombola and an auction were organised to continue to help this organisation.
If we know that only 5% of the African population has access to drinking water, it's only natural that this year we agreed to cook for this cause: water, life.
We would like to thank Mrs Aichatoui Kané, ambassador of Niger, guest of honour, Christel Pernet, president of the association Les Puits du Désert and its local partner, the NGO Tidène, chaired by the Tuareg Mohamed Ixa.
